How do I use subtitles in APA style? My prof looked at my rough draft of my paper and said it would be helpful if I used subtitles. How do I use them?

Answer

You will want to use subtitles in conjunction with headings. Headings are used to divide your paper and make it flow better. Think of it as a mini title for part of your paper. To make your headings more specific and reveal more about the paragraph(s) that follow, you may want to add subtitles. For formatting purposes for both headings and subtitles only the first letter of the first word and proper nouns are capitalized.
