A peer reviewed article (academic journal or scholarly articles) are those that have been reviewed by someone else in the field that did not write the article.
A number of the TCTC databases such as Academic One File have the option to search for peer reviewed articles only. If you put a check in the "peer review" box, then that is what the database search will run. The Peer Review (Scholarly articles) option appears different places on different databases.
